BJ Penn uncertain of his next move following MMA win

Hilo's BJ Penn said on his Web site that he is not sure what his next move in the sport of mixed martial arts will be after a resounding victory over Jens Pulver on Saturday in Las Vegas.

In a video message posted this morning on bjpenn.com, Penn said: "I don't know what I'm going to do yet. I still have a lot of things to think about — sit down with my family and friends and kind of talk about what I should do next in my career.

"I don't know what I'm going to do yet, if I'm going to go back to 170 (pounds) or stay at 155."

Penn also thanked many of his friends and family members, and his fans in Hawai'i during the message.

Penn defeated Pulver by rear-naked choke submission in the second round of their lightweight (155 pounds) bout. It was the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale mixed martial arts card.

The event was televised nationally on Spike TV.

In a live interview on the broadcast shortly after his victory, Penn's only comment was: "If you want to know what BJ Penn feels like, check out bjpenn.com."

The response from fans was so overwhelming it crashed the site within minutes of Penn leaving the octagon.

The site was up again Sunday, but no messages were posted until this morning.

Penn, however, did address the media later on Saturday night, and his quotes appeared in several articles.
