Advertiser Staff

Car break-ins were on the rise last month in Palolo, HPD Sgt. Clinton Sukekane told the Kaimuki Neighborhood Board meeting last week.

In May, there were 16 reported car break-ins around St. Louis Heights and lower Kaimuki, up from five the previous month.

In lower Wilhelmina Rise, there were eight car break-ins last month, up from three in April.

There were 23 car break-ins around Diamond Head last month, up from 20 in April.

Sukekane reminded residents not to leave valuables in their cars.

"It's something to be cautious about," he said.
