Honolulu soldier dies in Iraq of noncombat injuries

Sgt. Michael J. Montpetit, 31, of Honolulu, died Friday from a non-combat injury in Iraq.

A Honolulu soldier has died in Baghdad of injuries suffered in a noncombat incident, the Pentagon announced today.

Sgt. Michael J. Montpetit, 31, died Friday. The Department of Defense said his death is being investigated.

Montpetit was assigned to the 15th Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
