Skaters hold 'Banzai protest' on North Shore tonight

Longtime local skater Gary Owens is organizing a "Banzai protest" at 7 tonight at the North Shore Neighborhood Board meeting at the Haleiwa Surf Center.At issue is that the fact that more than five years ago the city promised the North Shore community a bells-and-whistles skate park by respected skate park design company Dreamland. Instead work is starting on a run-of-the-mill facility.
