WILHELMINA RISE
$20M approved for sewer lines

Advertiser Staff

City Council members earlier this month approved $20 million to upgrade sewer lines in Wilhelmina Rise.

Bids for the project will be opened in October, with work scheduled to start in April 2008.

About 35,000 linear feet of sewer lines will be fixed or replaced under this project.

Crews will fix structural defects, address hydraulic capacity issues, prevent pipe cracking and root damage, resolve problems due to unstable soil conditions, and improve access to sewer lines for maintenance crews.

The next full City Council meeting takes place at 10 a.m. July 5 at Honolulu Hale.
