Search under way for snakes in Kauai's Hanalei River

LIHU'E, Kaua'i Wildlife and agriculture officials are searching the Hanalei River area today for snakes, after three young kayakers reported seeing one fall from a tree.The kayakers, a 16-year-old and two 8-year-old girls, told authorities they saw what appeared to be a gray snake fall from a tree limb into the river Tuesday. There has been at least one previous snake report from the Hanalei River area.
