S.F. rave innovator Garth spins at 39hotel Saturday

DJ Garth will headline the Double Joy event at thirtyninehotel on Saturday.

The dj, who got his start in London and was instrumental in building the rave scene in San Francisco in the 1990s, is known for his eclecticism and love of challenging dance music. In addition to his own releases, he has created remixes for remixes The Glimmers, Perry Farrell, Yabby You and Tribe Called Quest.

He is a top name internationally and has drawn crowds in Honolulu at previous shows.

Garth runs the label Grayhound, based in San Francisco. He released the CD "Revolution in Sound" in 2003 and his latest, "Unleash the Hound," in 2006.
