OHA gives Hawaiian newspaper project 80K grant

Advertiser Staff

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has awarded Bishop Museum an $80,000 grant to benefit "Ho'olaupa'i: The Hawaiian Newspaper Resource Project."

The project puts early Hawaiian-language newspapers on the Internet for viewing. The Web site also allows users to search for words on pages.

So far, the project has put thousands of pages on the Internet, and is working on thousands more.

See the pages at www.nupepa.org.

For more information on the project, call coordinator Kaui Sai-Dudoit at 255-3206.
