The Kapalua Wine & Food Festival starts tomorrow and runs through Sunday at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.

The 2007 Kapalua Wine & Food Festival, one of the longest-running festivals of its kind in the United States, will be held tomorrow through Sunday at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.

Master sommelier and host Fred Dame has assembled a cast of internationally known winemakers, sommeliers, chefs and industry insiders for a series of tastings, seminars and gala events. Bon Appétit and Michael Mina, San Francisco Magazine's 2005 Chef of the Year, will conduct a cooking demonstration. A seafood festival featuring Hawai'i's top chefs caps off the weekend's festivities on Sunday.

Cooking demonstrations with food samplings and wine pairings, wine tasting seminars and a winemaker dinner featuring rare wines are a few of the highlights.

Guests can experience "The Grand Tasting," with Spanish-inspired cuisine and more than 100 wines from around the world.

Eight master sommeliers will discuss featured wines:

  • John Blazon, Walt Disney World, Orlando, Fla.

  • Larry Stone, Rubicon, San Francisco

  • Shayn Bjornholm, Seattle.

  • Roberto Viernes, Southern Wine and Spirits, O'ahu

  • Sara Floyd, Swirl Wine Brokers/Fine Estates from Spain, San Francisco

  • Serafin Alvarado, Southern Wine and Spirits, Illinois
