Valley moon walk, hike set

Residents and visitors can experience Waimea Valley Audubon Center from the heights of the ridge to the dark of the night during a moon walk and ridge-line hike set for the North Shore nature preserve.

The moon walk is from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday. Visitors should bring a flashlight and wear comfortable walking shoes.

Ticket sales begin at 7:30 p.m. and the gate closes at 8. Cost for adults is $5; children (4-12 years old), $3.

The hike, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 7, is a strenuous six-mile hike connecting both sides of the valley.
