Body found on Larsen's Beach on Kauai's north shore

A beachgoer on Kaua'i's north shore found a body at about 11 a.m. yesterday, Kaua'i County spokeswoman Mary Daubert said this morning.

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

Daubert would not comment on whether the body found at Larsen's Beach was tied to an incident involving a missing Washington man.

Roy Overstreet from Bellingham, Wash., was swimming at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday with his wife Cara Jaye, 42, when they were reportedly swept out to sea, according to Kaua'i Fire Department officials.

Jaye made it back to shore on her own, while her husband was reportedly swept further out. She sustained minor injuries and was taken to Wilcox Hospital for treatment.

U.S. Coast Guard rescue crews and Kaua'i firefighters searched the area earlier this week.
