'Iolani School students to hold 'golf cart' July 4th parade

News Release

'Iolani Summer School students in kindergarten to second grade will march in the school's annual Fourth of July parade and program on July 3 on campus from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The theme: "Happy Birthday America."

Students waving homemade flags and banners will follow golf carts decorated as floats while a 20-member high school marching brass band plays songs such as "God Bless America" and "You're a Grand Old Flag." Parents and other students, dressed in red, white and blue, will cheer on the patriotic promenade.

Following the parade, a program featuring original poems and songs will take place in the One Team Field House. Everyone will sing the National Anthem and America the Beautiful. A giant cake will add to the birthday celebration. There will also be a moment of silence and prayer for the fallen men and women who served in the military.
