Lagoon Drive access near airport restricted on July 4

Access to Lagoon Drive at Honolulu International Airport will be restricted on the evening of July 4, the state Department of Transportation announced.

From 6 to 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, vehicular traffic south of Aolele Street will be allowed only for area business tenants, their employees, customers and guests on officials business.

Deputies from the state Sheriff's Office will operate a security checkpoint near Aolele Street.

Anyone seeing suspicious persons or unsafe activities near the airport is encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Detail at 836-6606 or the airport duty manager at 836-6434.
