Punahou's Ching finishes 15th at Mission Hills Junior

Alex Ching, of Honolulu, shot a par-72 today in third round to finish tied for 15th at the AJGA's Mission Hills Desert Junior in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Ching, a Punahou senior-to-be, finished at 216, 10 strokes behind medalist Sihwan Kim of Buena Park, Calif., who shot 66.

At the AJGA's Houchens International Junior Open in Alvaton, Ky., former Wailuku resident Kyung Kim shot a third-round 12-over 84 to finish tied for seventh at 243.

Kim recently moved to Arizona.

Daffodil Sanchez, of Mesa, Ariz., shot an 82 to win with a 234.
