French holiday to be celebrated here

Bastille Day, a celebration of France's national holiday, is planned for 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 14 at the Waikiki Yacht Club in an event sponsored by the French Honorary Consulate in Hawaii and the Alliance Francaise, among others.There will be French music and food.

Pearl Harbor will host a block party and fireworks display on Independence Day.
The free events begin at 2 p.m., and are open to active-duty, military-affiliated, Department of Defense employees, family and sponsored guests.
There will be local entertainment, keiki activities and food.
A fireworks display begins at 8:45 p.m.
