Permitted purchase of fireworks starts after midnight

Permits required for the purchase of fireworks for July 4 play will be sold on O'ahu only at satellite city hall outlets during normal business hours through Tuesday.

Permits cost $25 each and multiple permits may be purchased.

Fireworks will go on sale tomorrow at 12:01 a.m. and may be purchased until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 4. Fireworks play time on O'ahu is between 1 and 9 p.m. on July 4.

The use of aerial fireworks is prohibited without a special display permit.

For those who prefer watching, Fire Department spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig announced the following schedule of permitted displays:

>li< Friday, 10 p.m., Lex Brodie's BayFest 2007 at Marine Corps Base Hawai'i, Kane'ohe.

>li< Saturday, 10 p.m., Lex Brodie's BayFest 2007 at Marine Corps Base Hawai'i, Kane'ohe.

>li< Sunday, 10 p.m., Lex Brodie's BayFest 2007 at Marine Corps Base Hawai'i, Kane'ohe.

>li< Tuesday, 9 p.m., Aloha Tower Marketplace.

>li< Wednesday, 8 p.m., Kailua Beach.

>li< Wednesday, 8 p.m., Ala Moana Beach.

>li< Wednesday, 8:15 p.m., Schofield Barracks.

>li< Wednesday, 8:30 p.m., Hickam Air Force Base.

>li< Wednesday, 8:45 p.m., Pearl Harbor.
