Piano recital Sunday benefits UH Lab School fire fund

Advertiser Staff

A piano recital to benefit the University Laboratory School fire fund is set for Sunday.

Proceeds will go to the reconstruction of a multipurpose building at the school destroyed in a blaze last June. The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dr. Richard T. Mamiya Theater at the Saint Louis Center for the Arts, 3142 Wai'alae Ave.

Tickets cost $20, or $12 for students or seniors.

Donations will also be accepted.

The recital will feature renowned pianist Wendy Yamashita, a University Laboratory School graduate who went on to attend Juilliard School.

The program will include works by Chopin, Ravel, Scarlatti and Mussorgsky.
