Kimberly Kim 5-over at U.S. Open when play suspended

Former Big Island resident Kimberly Kim was 5-over-par after 13 holes today when play was suspended by darkness at the U.S. Women's Open Championship at the Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C.

Kim, who lives in Arizona, birdied the par-4 fourth hole, bogeyed the par-3 No. 5, double-bogeyed the par-4 No. 6 and bogeyed the par-4 No. 9 to make the turn at 3 over.

Kim, 15, added bogeys on Nos. 10 and 12.

Kim and about half the field will return tomorrow morning to complete the first round before beginning the second round.
