Aloha begins lowering gas prices today

Advertiser Staff

Aloha Petroleum today began lowering the price of its gasoline in anticipation of the rollback of the state excise tax on ethanol-blended gasoline, which is set to take effect on Sunday, the company said.

Earlier today, Bob Maynard, Aloha president and CEO, changed the price of gasoline at the Aloha Petroleum gas station at Queen Emma Street and Vineyard Boulevard.

The price of gasoline at all 80 Aloha Petroleum stations will be cut by 12 cents for regular and 13 cents for unleaded-plus and premium by 10 a.m. tomorrow, the company said.

The company said in a news release that its move fulfills a promise Aloha Petroleum made last spring, when key state legislators expressed doubt that they would roll back the excise tax, because they could not be sure oil companies would pass the savings along to their customers.
