LIHU'E, Kaua'i—A body that washed ashore on Larsen's Beach Wednesday was that of a man who disappeared while swimming there with his wife Sunday, Kaua'i authorities said today after an autopsy.

Roy Overstreet, 42, of Bellingham, Wash., was visiting the east Kaua'i beach Sunday when he and his wife were swept into the water. She was helped to shore by another beachgoer, but Overstreet disappeared.

A two-day ground and air search by the Coast Guard and Kaua'i Fire Department did not locate the missing man. The body was found washed up on the shore early Wednesday.
