High-surf advisory expected today along south shores

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf advisory is expected to take effect this afternoon on south-facing shores, when surf reaches 5 feet to 8 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

Surf along east-facing and west-facing shores will be 4 feet to 6 feet today.

The north-facing shores will be 2 feet or less.

The large south southwest swell is expected to produce surf reaching the high-surf advisory threshold of 8 feet along south-facing shores from this afternoon through Sunday. Another larger south swell is expected to arrive early next week through Wednesday.
