WAILUKU, Maui — Police today identified a motorcyclist whose body was found days after he crashed into thick brush off North Kihei Road as David Fleury, 40, of Kihei.

An autopsy yesterday determined the man suffered multiple injuries consistent with a motor vehicle accident, said Lt. Robert Hill of the Maui Police Department's Traffic Section.

Fleury's body and his S&S Big Dog custom motorcycle were found Tuesday about 10 feet to 15 feet on the makai side of the two-lane road near the Maui Electric Co. generating plant after a passing bicyclist reported an odor, Hill said.

The victim is believed to have died sometime within a week before the discovery.

Hill said the cause of the crash remains a mystery.
