Kimberly Kim shoots 74 in second round, misses cut

Advertiser Staff

Former Big Island resident Kimberly Kim, 15, whose second round was suspended on the 17th hole yesterday, completed her round with a 3-over 74 early this morning and then missed the cut in the afternoon.

Kim, who lives in Arizona, returned to the course early today after a 3.5-hour weather delay forced suspension of the second round because of darkness yesterday.

The field was cut to the top 67 golfers, which included those within 10 strokes of the leader Ji-Yai Shin (139).

Kim, tied for 103rd, shot a 7-over 78 Thursday for a two-round total of 152, 10-over par.

Kim steadied her game after starting out on the back nine with a 4-over 40. She then birdied her 10th and 12th (course's No. 1 and 3) en route to a 1-under 34.
