UH's Grice may miss final two games of regular season

University of Hawai'i senior center Brittany Grice sat out today's women's basketball game at Idaho with a lower left leg injury, according to ESPN 1420 radio announcer Kevin Hashiro.

Hashiro said on the broadcast that Grice was dressed in street clothes on the sideline wearing a medical boot on her left leg. She also had crutches, Hashiro reported.

Grice would probably not be available for the Boise State game on Saturday, as well, he said.

Amber Lee started in place of Grice.

The Rainbow Wahine (14-12 overall, 8-6 WAC) are the hottest team in the Western Athletic Conference with seven wins in a row.

Hawai'i led Idaho, 34-16, at halftime. The Vandals (5-20, 2-12) have lost five in a row.

Hawai'i is 7-0 since Grice returned to the starting lineup Jan. 29. Grice is averaging 10.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game during Hawai'i's winning streak. Grice is also recovering from a herniated disc in her back that forced her to miss Hawai'i's 70-49 victory over visiting San Francisco Dec. 29.
