Tambini leds Rainbow Wahine to 8th hoop win in row

Advertiser Staff

Pam Tambini had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Hawai'i smashed host Idaho, 64-43, tonight at Moscow, Idaho.

The Rainbow Wahine extended their season-best Western Athletic Conference win streak to eight games despite playing without senior center Brittany Grice, who is nursing a lower leg injury.

Hawai'i (15-12 overall, 9-6 WAC) led by as many as 32 points in the second half against the Vandals (5-21, 2-13), and improved to 6-0 under acting coach Pat Charity. Hawai'i head coach Jim Bolla will likely miss the remainder of the season healing from lung surgery.

The 'Bows guaranteed themselves their second consecutive winning campaign, and they will end the regular-season at Boise State on Saturday.

The Broncos are the only team Hawai'i hasn't beaten this season.

Hawai'i's Tanya Smith had 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Amy Kotani tied her career high with 12 points.
