St. Paddy's Day block party braces for throngs

About 3,000 participants are expected at a St. Patrick's Day block party March 17 in downtown Honolulu.
Murphy's Bar & Grill is presenting the annual event, which features food, drinks and entertainment with an Irish spin. The celebration includes lunch hour music and food from 11 a.m., with an evening block party from 5:30 to 11 p.m., with road closures on Nu'uanu Avenue between King Street and Nimitz Highway and Merchant Street between Nu'uanu and Bethel Street.
