Leeward, Central area H-1 traffic slowed by stalled bus

Advertiser Staff

Traffic flow on H-1 Freeway heading in from Leeward and Central O'ahu is sluggish this morning, due primarily to a stalled city bus in the Zipper Lane in Waimalu.

As of 8:15, the backup extended back past the Kunia Road on-ramp. The freeway is clogged through most of Waipahu and Pearl City, but the pace picks up past the 'Aiea Heights Drive overpass.

From there, traffic is moving smoothly until the Middle Street merge, which is packed right now.

The traffic remains heavy from there through Kalihi and Liliha but lightens up once past the Kina'u Street exit.

The drive in from Hawai'i Kai is going well, with things stacking up just prior to the Koko Head Avenue overpass.

Traffic heading into town on the Pali Highway is a bit lighter than usual today, with no significant stalls, accidents or backups being reported at this time.
