Hawai'i not affected by Longs' closures on Mainland

Advertiser Staff

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Longs Drug Stores' Hawai'i operations will not be affected by the company's decision to close 31 stores in four Western states this year.

The store closures will eliminate the drug store operator's presence in Colorado, Washington and Oregon, where the company has a total of 23 stores. California will lose eight locations.

Longs also said it plans to open or move as many as 30 other outlets and remodel 40 more.
