Planned Kapolei community center gets $100K pledge

The Bank of Hawaii Charitable Foundation has awarded $100,000 to the Salvation Army to support the campaign for the establishment of of the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Kapolei.The center, to be located on a 12-acre site, will offer a broad range of educational, athletic, cultural and social services for the elderly, families and children at risk, according to a release from Bank of Hawaii.
The center will serve communities from Waipahu and 'Ewa Beach to Kapolei, Makakilo, Nanakuli and Waianae.
