UH-Hilo baseball team splits with Patten

Roby Mowers had four hits, including a game-winning, two-out single in the bottom of the 10th to lift University of Hawai'i -Hilo to a 7-6 victory over Patten University in the first game of a doubleheader at Wong Stadium Friday.

The Oakland, Calif., school (6-13) beat UH-Hilo (1-14) in the nightcap, 13-9.

David Chu, Michael Higa, Ryan Taiariol and Shane Kessel all had three hits for UH-Hilo in the opener.
