UH-Hilo beats Patten for first victory of year

Roby Mowers had four hits, including a game-winning, two-out single in the bottom of the 10th today to lift University of Hawai'i at Hilo to a 7-6 victory over Patten University in the first game of a doubleheader at Wong Stadium.It was UH-Hilo's first victory after 13 losses. Patten (5-13), from Oakland, Calif., scored two runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game at 6 and force extra innings.
David Chu, Michael Higa, Ryan Taiariol and Shane Kessel all had three hits for UH-Hilo.
