"Hats Off" celebrates national Red Cross Month.

Last year various branches of the military, firefighters, civil defense, club members, and numerous community supporters collected more than $80,000 over a 2-day period.

All funds collected today and tomorrow will go to the American Red Cross, Hawai'i State Chapter, to support local services.

Kickoff at Tamarind Park

Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Entertainment, celebrity Jan Ken Po contest, food booths (Morton's Steakhouse, Starbucks, Dib's Ice Cream, bake sale), Hawaiian TelCom corded phones, and informational booths for emergency organizations.

Hats Off donation sites

Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hundreds of volunteers will be at intersections throughout Oahu collecting monetary donations.
