A memorial fund has been established for the family of Gillian Badua, the 17-year-old Mililani High School senior who died in an auto crash last week.

Donations to the Friends of Gillian Badua fund may be made at any First Hawaiian Bank branch.

Funeral services for Badua will be held March 12 and 13 at the Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel.

Badua was sitting in the back seat of a red 1994 Volkswagen Jetta when it crashed into a tree in Mililani the night of Feb. 23. The crash killed Badua and sent two young men, also from Mililani, to a hospital. The 18-year-old front-seat passenger was in critical condition, and the 21-year-old driver in serious condition.

Laura Matsuoka, a friend of the family, said Badua's mother, a Hawai'i Air National Guard staff sergeant stationed in the Middle East, arrived here this week and is still in disbelief. "They're just doing the best they can under the circumstances," Matsuoka said of the family.

Visitation on March 12 begins at 5 p.m., with service at 6:30. Visitation on March 13 begins at 8:30 a.m., with service at 11:45 and burial at 12:30 p.m.
