Happy Girls' Day!

Yes, today is that Japanese tradition that celebrates little girls and when wishes are made for their good health and happiness.

Out just in time is the hardcover book "Girls' Day/Boys' Day" (Bess Press; $16.95) by photographer Minako Ishii. It focuses on the celebrations in Hawai'i and Japan. Boys' Day, by the way, is May 5.
