Interfaith Open Table scheduled

Debi Hartmann will discuss "Devout in My Faith, Engaged in the Politic, Finding a Comfortable Nexus," at the upcoming Interfaith Open Table.

Hartmann once led Hawai'i's Future Today, a conservative group that opposed gay marriage. In a dramatic turnaround, she is now working with gay activists to enact civil-union laws that carry the same rights as traditional marriage.

Also, Judy Rantala, former executive director of the University of Hawai'i YWCA and now head of the Hawai'i Coalition Against Legalized Gambling, will share her faith journey.

SCREENING OF 'ILLUSION' SET

Unity Church of Hawaii is having a screening of "Illusion" at 7 p.m. March 16-17.

The movie stars Kirk Douglas as a once-powerful, now-ailing film producer who finds himself in deep regret over rejecting his only child.

MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO DR. KING

The Hawai'i Ecumenical Chorale will present a musical tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.

The "I Have a Dream" concert will feature baritone Leon Williams.

The free concert will be held at 4 p.m. March 17 at Harris United Methodist Church. Information: Eileen Lum, 595-2396.

'BACH VESPERS' NEXT WEEKEND

The Lutheran Church of Ho-nolulu's choir and compline choir will present "Bach Vespers for Lent," 7 p.m. March 11 at the church, 1730 Punahou St.

Cantata Nr 10, "Mein Seel erhebt den Herren," and Cantata Nr 105, "Herr, gehe nicht ins Gericht," will be sung with the Bach Chamber Orchestra.

Soloists include Sarah Markovits and Georgine Stark, sopranos; Carl Crosier, alto; Ian Capps and Les Ceballos, tenors; and Timothy Carney, bass. Katherine Crosier, organist, will perform some of Bach's chorale preludes for the Lenten season.
