Man accused of shoplifting faces weapons charge

A 57-year-old man accused of shoplifting a jacket from a downtown retail store on Fort Street Friday was charged that evening with possession of a deadly weapon.Bail for Mark Laughlin Maclise, 57, who has no permanent local address, was $1,000 on the weapons charge.
He was also charged with petty misdemeanor fourth-degree theft, with a $50 bail.
Police did not say what the deadly weapon was.
