Fine weather expected most of the week

A ridge of high pressure will move south and hover over the main Hawaiian Islands through most of next week, according to the National Weather Service.

The winds will become light and variable, allowing local and sea breezes to dominate, forecasters said.

Clouds and showers will favor mauka areas each afternoon and evening, with clearing skies expected at night.

A cold front is expected to reach Kaua'i late Friday or early Saturday.

Here's a closer look at what to expect during the next few days.

Today, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 77 to 83. Southeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight, mostly cloudy early in the evening, then clearing. Isolated showers early in the evening. Lows 59 to 66. North winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tomorrow, sunny in the morning, then partly sunny with isolated showers in the afternoon. Highs 77 to 82. Southeast winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
