UH hammers Chicago St., 16-1, wraps up 5-game sweep

Hawai'i complete a five-game sweep of Chicago State today with a 16-1 win at Les Murakami Stadium.

Matt Daly (1-0) pitched five innings, allowing an unearned run and two hits with six strikeouts. Nicholas Rhodes and Craig Johnson added two scoreless innings each to finish off the game.

Jorge Franco was 2 for 2 with four RBIs off the bench for the Rainbows (14-6).

The Cougars (0-11) issued 17 walks in the game. Starter Sean Freeman (0-1) allowed eight runs, five hits and five walks in one-plus inning of work.

The Rainbows will host Arizona next weekend, while the Cougars will travel to UH-Hilo.
