UH art exhibit explores connections between senses
Advertiser Staff
Ever wonder how we perceive with our senses, and how those perceptions might be connected?Could seeing a color make you hear, smell or feel something?
"What Sound Does a Color Make?," an art exhibition that explores those possibilities through immersive sensory environments and time-based videos, opens today at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Art Gallery.
These works were created by a diverse, internationally recognized group of artists. The exhibition relates the recent boom of digital audiovisual art to its predigital roots through the presentation of nine contemporary works and four single-channel videos from the 1970s.
The gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
