Advertiser Staff

Tate Ford and Giancarlo Silverstri hit two-run doubles in successive at-bats to spice a four-run seventh inning rally that lifted Grand Canyon over host Hawai'i-Hilo, 7-3, Sunday in a non-conference baseball game at Wong Stadium.

Silverstri batted 3 for 5, and Josiah Ziegler earned a save with two scoreless innings of one-hit ball for the Antelopes (10-6). Starting pitcher Patrick Lawler got the win, working seven innings while allowing four hits and three runs. He struck out six and walked one.

David Chu's two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth gave the Vulcans (1-16) a 3-1 lead.

Grand Canyon, which is from Phoenix, Ariz., closed to 3-2 on Matt Henne's sacrifice fly in the fifth.

Ford put the Antelopes ahead to stay with his one-out, bases-loaded double in the seventh.
