Woman struck in crosswalk near Queen's

A pedestrian was injured yesterday after she was struck by a car in front of The Queen's Medical Center.

The accident happened about 10 a.m., when the driver of a four-door Toyota sedan hit a woman in her 40s who was attempting to cross Punchbowl at Miller Street in a marked crosswalk.

Paramedics from Queen's wheeled the woman from the accident scene to the emergency room on a gurney.

The extent of her injuries wasn't immediately known.

The driver was not injured.
