Oscar winner, St. Louis grad speaking at UH today

"Footloose" writer Dean Pitchford will discuss screenwriting, composing and acting at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa today for the Academy for Creative Media master class.

Oscar winner and St. Louis graduate Dean Pitchford will be the featured speaker today at the University of Hawai'i's Academy for Creative Media master class.

Among Pitchford's credits: He wrote the lyrics for title song of the motion picture "Fame" and wrote the 1980s film "Footloose," which starred Kevin Bacon.

Pitchford will discuss screenwriting, composing and acting from 2:30 to 4 p.m. as part of ACM's master class series at Crawford Hall 115.
