UH women No. 129 in RPI

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawaii women's basketball team is ranked 129 among 335 NCAA Division I schools in college basketball's Rating Percentage Index (RPI) released today.

RPI is used to help select and seed at-large teams in the NCAA Tournament.

No. 1 in the RPI is Tennessee, followed by Duke. Western Athletic Conference champion Boise State is No. 94.

UH plays Fresno State Wednesday in the WAC Tournament, an event that will qualify the winner anNCAA Tournament berth.

The basic RPI is derived from three component factors: Division I winning percentage (25 percent), schedule strength (50); and opponent's schedule strength (25). Games against non-Division I opponents are not used in calculating the RPI.
