Overturned semi-truck righted; 2 Nimitz lanes shut

Advertiser Staff

A semi-truck carrying construction materials that overturned on Nimitz Highway this morning has been righted but traffic is still slow-going.

Scott Ishikawa, spokesman for the state Department of Transportation, said the truck is now back on its wheels at the scene of the accident near Sand Island Access Road.

Two west-bound right lanes near the scene remained closed.

The truck flipped over shortly after 6:30 a.m., spilling some of its materials onto the highway.
