Man, 83, pleads not guilty to stabbing wife in Waikiki

Accused 83-year-old murderer Tadeusz "Ted" Jandura entered a not guilty plea in court this morning and was bound over for trial in May.

Jandura, of Edmonton, Alberta, was represented at the arraignment hearing by the state Public Defender's office. Jack Tonaki, head of the office, declined comment on the case today.

Jandura is being held without bail on charge of killing his wife, Ingeborg, 82, Feb. 25 in their room at the Ilikai Hotel in Waikiki.

City prosecutors filed charges carrying a punishment of life without parole because of the "heinous" nature of the crime. Jandura stabbed his wife "at least 100 times," city Deputy Prosecutor Rom Trader said in court last week.
