ATV trailer to assist police

Advertiser Staff

The North Shore Chamber of Commerce has raised $7,000 to purchase an ATV trailer for the Wahiawa Police Station.

The trailer allows police to haul their three new all-terrain vehicles to the North Shore for searches, investigations and crime prevention in parks and on beaches, said Antya Miller, executive director for the North Shore chamber.

The money was donated by businesses, residents and community associations.

Before the custom trailer was delivered, the police had to borrow a trailer to haul their equipment, Miller said.

"They'll be able to get in the off-road area more easily," she said.
