BYUH gets at-large bid to NCAAs

The Brigham Young-Hawai'i men's basketball team received an at-large bid to the NCAA II National Tournament yesterday and was seeded seventh in the West Regional at Arcata, Calif.

The Seasiders (20-7), who finished second in the Pacific West Conference, meet second-seeded Cal State-San Bernardino (22-5) in the opening round Friday.

In the other first-round games: No. 3 Cal Poly Pomona (20-7) plays No. 6 Seattle Pacific (18-9), No. 4 Seattle (19-8) plays No. 5 Grand Canyon (20-7), and No. 1 Humboldt State (24-3) plays No. 8 Alaska-Anchorage (19-8).

Semifinal games will be played Saturday, with the championship game scheduled for Monday.
