Skate Aloha competition begins Thursday

The Hawaii Figure Skating Club will host the Skate Aloha 2007 Figure Skating Competition Thursday through Saturday at the Ice Palace Skating Arena in Stadium Mall.

The event will feature 70 skaters from Hawai'i, Australia, Canada, California, Pennsylvania and Utah, with experience ranging from beginner to seasoned competitor. The skaters' ages range from 4 years old to 63 years old.

Spectators are welcome to attend, and admission is free. Competition hours are:

i 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday;

i 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday;

i 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Events include the Intermediate Ladies Short Program, Novice Short Program Intermediate Men and Senior Ladies Artistic Programs at 3:45 p.m. Thursday; Preliminary Artistic, Novice Artistic and Intermediate Artistic at 2:45 p.m. on Friday; and the Juvenile Girls Free Skate, Intermediate Free Skate and Novice Free Skate starting at 7 a.m. Saturday.
