Hawai'i softball team beats Boston College, 5-1

Advertiser Staff

Kate Robinson and Brandi Peile hit consecutive home runs in a four-run first to lead the University of Hawai'i softball team to a 5-1 victory over Boston College Tuesday night at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Robinson's three-run drive and Peiler's second homer in as many games was enough to support Justine Smethurst (6-3).

Smethurst spaced eight hits and two walks in pitching a complete game.

Both teams enter Wednesday's start of the 2007 Hawaiian Airlines Spring Fling Tournament. UH plays Pacific at 5 p.m. and Liberty at approximately 7 p.m.
