Insurance agent's license suspended for violation

Advertiser Staff

Insurance agent Larry H. Goto may have his insurance license permanently revoked by state Insurance Commissioner J.P. Schmidt after an investigation found Goto violated state regulations in selling Medicare policies to senior citizens.

The Insurance Division has suspended Goto's license and issued a cease and desist order barring the agent from selling insurance plans in Hawai'i. Schmidt also issued a notice of intent to assess a $10,000 fine.

The state said insurance code requirements protect the elderly by ensuring consumers understand what they are purchasing and are not sold inappropriate policies.
